Dr. Mehul Barai, MD (Ayu), is a senior Ayurvedic physician with over 17 years of clinical experience, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. He is the founder and director of Meghdhara Ayurveda Hospital, Saurashtra’s first internationally recognized Ayurveda hospital, equipped with a 10-bed facility dedicated to authentic Panchakarma therapies and classical Ayurvedic treatment.
Dr. Barai specializes in the treatment of spinal and joint disorders, liver diseases, obesity, skin conditions, and diabetes. His expertise and results-driven approach have attracted patients from over 20 countries, including Japan, Brazil, Spain, France, Switzerland, Dubai, and South Africa, seeking personalized Ayurvedic care.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Barai successfully treated over 1,000 COVID-positive patients. His clinical work, titled “Effect of Ayurveda Intervention in COVID-19 Patient with Respiratory Distress – A Case Report,” was published in the Annals of Ayurvedic Medicine (AAM) Journal in September 2022, demonstrating the efficacy of Ayurveda in critical respiratory conditions.
As a global Ayurveda educator, Dr. Barai has conducted over 100 consultations and 5 Ayurveda workshops in Spain in the last two years. In September 2023, he led a dedicated workshop and consultation series in Japan. He has treated more than 100 Japanese patients through inpatient Panchakarma programs at Meghdhara Ayurveda Hospital and offered 200+ online consultations for patients across Japan.
